Dear Bailey Tabernacle Family,

We have been carefully monitoring the resurgence of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations, and I have been in consultations with medical experts.  On August 21st,  Sis. Barbara Jernigan led a conversation about the current state of the pandemic.  The full zoom conversation is posted on the church website and on Youtube .

I want you all to know that I miss worshipping and fellowshipping in-person with all of you, and I would absolutely prefer to continue and expand regular in-person services.  However, many members of our congregation are particularly vulnerable to infection and complication.  Many of us are caregivers for elderly and immunocompromised persons.  As Scripture declares “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves” (Romans 15: 1).

Therefore, to be good stewards of one another’s health, in-person worship at Bailey Tabernacle CME Church is suspended for the remainders of August, September, and October 2021.  At each of our church conferences/ official board meetings in September and October we will revisit the hiatus and discuss the best next steps.

Video worship will be posted each Sunday morning on our website , the group Facebook page Bailey Tabernacle CME Church-Tuscaloosa , and our other social media. Sunday School and Wednesday Bible Studies will continue via Zoom.  Check your emails or reach out to Regina for the links.

Call one another more.  Check on those most particularly vulnerable.  Encourage one another.  Find and share creative ideas for deepening connections and doing ministry.  And most importantly, deepen your connection with the Lord.  Pray.  Take the time that would have been used for travel to listen to the Lord.  Pause the sermon and look up the Scripture references.  Read.  Write.  Grow.   We are BAILEY.  We gone be alright.

Text, email, or call me anytime.  Be safe, family.

Yours in Christ’s love,
